Who we work with

ConnectGene works with our genomics testing partner to use next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, amongst other techniques, to evaluate your and your cancer’s genomic profiles.

We work with Genomics For Life, an Australian based diagnostic molecular pathology laboratory that specialises in genetic testing of cancers. The laboratory upholds Australian and international accreditation standards.

They are accredited by NATA/ILAC and the RCPA in Australia and are also ISO 15189 and ISO 17025 certified, which are internationally recognised standards of quality.

Identifying treatment options with genomic testing

Genomic testing provides a personalised approach to provide you with the best chance of beating your cancer.

By identifying mutations unique to your cancer we can find targeted solutions to position you with the best possible treatment.

Clinical trials have shown that genomic profiling is the most effective way to improve outcomes, and the investment in genomic testing to find the appropriate therapy for you, is lower than the potential cost of incorrect forms of treatment.

Together, ConnectGene and Genomics for Life provide the most up-to-date and comprehensive analysis for a range of cancer types, combining advanced testing technology and insight from our oncology specialist.

Our goals
with genomic testing

We aim to provide you with test results at the highest levels of accuracy, as quickly as possible. Genetic testing is a complex process, where DNA has to be extracted from your sample and processed so that it can be read.

These procedures take more time than a standard blood test. Therefore, results cannot be ready in a couple of days. Turnaround time is approximately 10-20 business days, depending on when our testing partner
receives the sample.

We understand the urgency of your results and are working with our testing partner to issue them as soon as possible.

The cost of
GENOMIC TESTING

The cost of genomic testing ranges from US$200 to over US$10,000 depending on the number of genes analysed and the comprehensiveness of the report. Our oncology specialist will help you choose the test most relevant to your situation and price sensitivity.
